I cannot believe how nice the weather was yesterday. It would have been foolish to not ride a bit, so I rode into South City and around some residential neighborhoods. I had planned on riding to JB Park but opted to head down Germania and turn back up River Des Peres. Then I went through Tower Grove Park - which would be a much better ride were it not for the ever so frequent speed bumps in that park. Next, back through Maplewood and up Big Bend towards Delmar on my way home. It is so nice to have Big Bend opened back up.
There were many motorcycles and scooters out and about yesterday. I even saw Jimmbomb and Bill Wessels at the Hanley, St. Charles Rock Road intersection. I was too many cars back to get their attention though. It appeared they had just finished their ride and were heading to their respective homes. It really was too bad that Amanda had to work as it would have been nice to have her on the ride with me.
Seeing everyone on two wheels made it hard to believe that it is almost December. If this kind of weather keeps creeping into the forecast, it is going to make riding year round much more enjoyable!
This is an unbelievable start to the month of November. I went on an early ride this morning and the temperature was already almost 60 degrees at 7 am. It was so warm out that I came across a few spots of low lying fog hovering just above the ground. It is expected to hit nearly 80 degrees before the day is out. How amazing is that? What a great day for riding!
I managed to enjoy the weather by taking a scooter ride with Amanda when she got home from work. We started with a quick stop at Oak Knoll Cemetery to take a few pictures of the mausoleum. After a visit to Vespa St. Louis to shop accessories it was a ride through downtown and onto the riverfront. The crowds were unexpectedly fairly sparse for such a beautiful day, but it made riding through much swifter. The Riverfront Trail entrance at the old Union Electric building gave us yet another chance to take a few photos. Then we rode north along the river and stopped at one of the riverfront parks for a short break before heading home. The sun was setting deeper and deeper as we rode on. The warm fall breeze caused swirls of the fragrant fall to carry us through the ride. Smells of the last summer barbecue blended with the bitter scent of warm fireplaces and drying leaves. As we rode deeper into the setting sun it was hard to imagine the coming winter.

Okay, so I have finally decided to do something with this blog. I have had it for months but had not put it to use...so here goes!
It is hard to believe it is actually November when you walk out the door. No jacket is required today, unless you are talking protective gear for riding. I ran some errands this morning and saw as many motorcycles, scooters and convertibles with their tops down as one finds on a midsummer day. How awesome is that? I personally have not gotten a ride in yet today; but plan to ride as much as possible tomorrow, which promises to provide equally nice riding conditions. I can hardly wait!
